Purpose
Design, prototype manufacture and testing of miniature brushless DC motors
and controllers with analytic and experimental techniques. Prior experience
with battery technology is highly desirable. Assisting with building test rigs to
test motors (and the pumps they drive) under various simulated conditions.
Lead to prototypes suitable for implantation and trials in animals and humans.
Reports to the CTO and CEO, liaises with fellow technical staff and external
collaborators.
Qualifications
PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
Suitable visa for work in the UK
Skills
- Electrical or electromechanical engineerin
- Labview
- MATLAB
- Circuit design
- Soldering
- CAD design (preferably Solidworks)
- Electrical motor simulations (preferable Ansys Maxwell)
- Understanding of electrical motor testing and evaluation
- Understanding of electrical motor control
- Writing of archival journal papers and presentation in conferences (in that order)
